Oral Surgery

  • Maxillectomies: Almost all tumors affecting the upper jaw can be removed safely, completely, and entirely within the mouth. This gives an excellent cosmetic and functional outcome.   • Mandibulectomies: Almost all tumors affecting the lower jaw can be removed safely, completely, and entirely within the mouth. This gives an excellent cosmetic and functional outcome. Dr. Agrodnia is highly experienced in oral surgery and most patients will be discharged the day after surgery able to eat and drink.
  • Cleft palate surgeries: Specific flap techniques are required to ensure success of this procedure. Puppies should be 4-7 months of age before surgery is performed in most cases to maximize success.
  • Brachycephalic airway surgery: Commonly performed in Pugs, Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, this surgery helps open up the nose and shorten the palate for dogs who experience loud breathing and exercise intolerance. Chronic respiratory changes are not always reversible and this procedure is best done in the hands of an experienced surgeon in relatively young animals. Dr. Agrodnia has performed hundreds of these procedures safely over the past 13 years.
